Dr Barry Reid will be retiring on the 30th June 2021.

Barry has been at the Ocean Grove Medical Clinic for 36 years and will be sadly missed by both patients, doctors and staff.  We wish Barry the very best of wishes for his next adventures!

Below is a message from Barry

I commenced my career at the Ocean Grove Medical Clinic in 1985 and it now feels like time to hang up my stethoscope and move to the next phase in my life while I am still healthy and active.

My decision to retire was a difficult one to make, although the  COVID-19 onslaught made it slightly easier!

During my 36 years at the Clinic I have formed close bonds with many of my patients as together we celebrated health triumphs and, sadly, in some cases battled tragedies.  I have been part of the fabric of the Clinic for so long that I am now seeing the third generation of some families.  These relationships have sustained me and I will miss them.

I wish the very best for all my patients and hope that you will transition to my chosen successor, Dr Peter Corredig, who I am delighted to advise has agreed to take over my practice and also to be my own GP going forward.

I will also miss my colleagues at the Clinic – doctors, nurses and administrative staff.  I am indebted to all of them for their friendship, collegiality and dedication to the well being of our patients.

I plan to take a long holiday (COVID-19 willing) to parts of Australia I have not yet seen.  Apart from that, I will continue to pursue my passions of surfing and playing guitar with my band ‘Beatz Working’.  This will not be news to those that know me well!  I will also spend time planning for the day when international travel may again be an option.

Thank you for the trust you placed in me.
