Ocean Grove Medical Clinic appointments information

Consultations at Ocean Grove Medical Clinic are by appointment only between 8.30am and 5.30pm Monday to Friday. Every effort will be made to accommodate your preferred doctor and time.

Standard appointments are of 10-to-15 minutes duration, but this may change if there have been emergencies or if the surgery is very busy.

We ask that you make a 30-minute appointment if you:

  • Wish to discuss several issues during the one appointment
  • Require a full check-up or medical services and examinations that require a report
  • Have forms to be completed
  • Need an appointment for minor surgical procedures

Repeat prescriptions, test results, referral requests & all forms needed to be completed by a doctor require an appointment.

Home visits are available for registered patients of our clinic living in Ocean Grove or Barwon Heads that are too ill to attend the clinic.

Should you be unable to keep your appointment time, we would appreciate notification as earliest as possible so that another patient may be offered the appointment time. Our Ocean Grove and Barwon Heads doctors aim to run on time and your punctual attendance will assist this.

Failure to attend a booked appointment may incur a cancellation fee of $50 – this fee is not rebated by Medicare.

Contact us to make an appointment or you can book online.

Telephone calls

To ensure quality of care, our doctors prefer to see you for a consultation rather than liaise via telephone.

We try to keep interruptions to your consultation to a minimum. Telephone calls will be answered by our reception staff and will be forwarded to the doctor if urgent. In other cases a message will be given to the doctor who will return calls at a later time.

Our practice is committed to preventative care. Your Ocean Grove or Barwon Heads doctor will seek permission for you to be included in our reminder system. We may issue you with a reminder notice from time to time offering you preventative health services appropriate to your care. If you do not wish to be part of this system please let your doctor or the reception staff know.
