Anti-Wrinkle Treatments

The natural aging process of the face is a result of multiple internal and external factors. Over time this leads to the development of facial lines and wrinkles. Anti-wrinkle treatments involves the administration of natural form of purified protein into particular muscles of the face, causing them to relax and facial lines to soften.

There are two types of facial lines: static and dynamic. Static lines or wrinkles result from the loss of skin elasticity and volume, and years of repetitive muscle movement. Dynamic lines are those exaggerated by facial expressions such as frowning, squinting and smiling.

Botulinum Toxin for medical application

Botulinum Toxin type A is well known for its aesthetic properties and role in facial enhancement, but what about medical applications? Neurotoxins have an important role to play in a number of medical conditions when conservative management and other less invasive treatment options have been exhausted. Two of these conditions are Bruxism (teeth grinding) and associated Temporomandibular Joint (TMJ) Dysfunction and Hyperhidrosis.

Masseters

Teeth grinding, gnashing and clenching of the jaw can occur both throughout the day but also commonly during the night when sleeping. Hyperhidrosis can be broken down into primary and secondary causes, the later meaning there is another identifiable and potentially treatable cause for the excessive sweating. Primary Hyperhidrosis is the absence of secondary cause and failing conservative treatment options such as good hygiene and regular application of prescription antiperspirants then Botulinum Toxin type A is an effective treatment option.

Dermal Fillers

Dermal fillers use a gel-like substance composed of Hyaluronic Acid (HA), a naturally occurring substance that keep the skin hydrated and volumised.  They are injected into the skin to smooth and soften fine lines and creases, restore or add volume and enhance facial contours.
